Sarra reservoir (1438 m) is located just a few kilometres to the north of Sallent de Gállego. You can get there by road, or if you would like to make a longer trip, by walking on the GR 11 long distance footpath from Sallent. From Sarra to Respomuso refuge the entire route is signposted as GR 11 and follows an obvious track next to the Aguas Limpias river, always on the right bank.
From Puen deras Faxas, at the reservoir outlet a wide track between meadows and forest leads gently upwards in a northerly direction. After crossing several ravines there is a fork which, to the left takes us to Cuello de Soba and the Arriel peaks (crossing route 23) (Do not mix this route up with the Arriel Lakes route, which is found later on). The route towards Respomuso bears right leading to Paso l'Onso, a gorge where the path was opened through the base of the peak, digging out an overhanging path in the rock above the Aguas Limpias river (caution). You will then reach Plano Cheto where the valley widens and the path bears eastwards. After crossing the ravine coming fown from Os Arriels, the climb becomes steeper adn the path passes under a rock wall (Paso dero Pino). Ignore the fork to the left leading towards Ibons d'Arriel, and carry on up the right hand side of the valley. You will soon see Aguas Limpias, running over the Salto Pipós waterfall. The trees become more sparsely populated the closer you get to the Respomuso reservoir dam. The Virgen de las Nieves hermitage and the remains of old buildings can be seen in the nearby area (crossing route 08). The terrain leads on a zigzag ascent to climb several metres above the reservoir on our right and finally levels off before taking us to the nearby Respomuso refuge (2200 m).
